Coachings

One-time coaching
If you already have specific questions, these can also be answered within one meeting, as needed.

Support in phases
In most cases, it makes more sense to accompany you through several phases, as this can provide you with lasting assistance. This is structured in 3 steps, or meetings:
Step 1: Analysis of the family and the linguistic set-up and your goals:
-
Who speaks to the child in which language when?
-
What are your expectations from the coaching?
Step 2: Concrete assistance to improve the linguistic environment and family life. Afterwards, you will know how to:
-
Integrate multiple languages into your everyday life
-
Be able to perceive the development and interests of your child and motivate them without exerting pressure
Step 3: We will discuss any difficulties and determine the foundations for how you can live multilingualism in your family in a way that everyone feels comfortable with.

Workshops
I also offer workshops in small groups, where you get a lot of valuable knowledge and tips to take with you along the way. At the same time, such a workshop is a great opportunity to exchange ideas with other parents. Further information is available online here.
I offer various advisory services for parents and guardians as well as for schools and educators. Depending on your individual needs, we can determine the form that advice takes.
One possible challenge may be:
"I have been speaking French with my son Theo since his birth, and my husband has been speaking with him in Swiss German. My son is now 4 years old. So far, we have been guided by the OPOL (one-parent-one-language) method, where I have consistently spoken to him in my mother tongue, and my husband, in his mother tongue. That has always worked wonderfully so far. But since Theo started going to kindergarten, he has been refusing to speak French to me. It almost breaks my heart, and there's almost nothing I can do about it."
Such situations occur more often than you think. In each family, there is a different set-up, and different languages that meet. In a consultation, we can look at the various individual needs of your family and the situation you currently find yourselves in.
The consultations are available in German, English or Slovak and can take place via Zoom, at the Tadah Co-Working Space in Zurich-Albisrieden, or at another location in Zurich and the surrounding area.
